Description
DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY UNITED STATES COAST GUARD Integrated Support Command - Alameda, Engineering Division, Bldg. 15 Coast Guard Island, Alameda, California 94501 Intent: Procure a contractor to apply a slurry coat to the RV parking lot Requirements. The contractor shall provide the following: 1)The contractor is to contact Dan Odom (local housing manager) or DCC Robert Green (DC Chief/Coast Guard chain of command contact for Novato housing) regarding any questions related to quoting on this job. DCC Robert Green : Robert.k.green@uscg.mil ph 415 382 4240 Dan Odom: Daniel.k.odom@uscg.mil ph 415 382 4251 2)The Coast guard will receive no less than one month notice prior to the actual execution of the project to allow time to have all stored vehicles removed. All vehicles, trailers and other personal items shall be removed by the contractor at the owner’s expense. 3)The contractor shall prepare the surface for the application of a slurry coat. This should include, but shall not be limited to the following steps to prepare the area: a)Trim trees back to the perimeter of the parking lot. A site walk with the local housing officer should be conducted in advanced to identify all trees and plants that would fall under this category so that they may be marked for trimming or removal. This shall be the responsibility of the Novato Housing personnel to coordinate and execute. The contractor should provide a line item for the pruning required in the event that the Coast Guard does not perform within the agreed schedule. b)Clean the entire surface of the parking lot so that it is ready to accept the slurry coat in a matter that ensures adhesion. c)Clean and repair cracks in the surface. This shall include the removal of weeds or other plant material growing in the cracks. This may require the use of a material other than the slurry mix to repair the crack. 4)Apply the slurry coat. Once the contractor has completed this the contractor is to notify the COTR ( Contracting Officer’s Technical Representative) for an inspection. 5)The contractor is to demobilize, restoring the site in all areas where the slurry was not applied to its original condition. This is for areas where debris related to the project have been left or damage created by vehicles requires action by the contractor to properly remedy.
