Description
As a host of the 2008 National Medal of Science ceremony to be held in September 2008, the National Science Foundation (NSF) intends to provide funding to the National Science & Technology Medals Foundation to be used toward printing, equipment rental, tables, chairs, soundstage, video screens, lighting, parking, security guard services, photography, videotaping, video casting, laureate and guest transportation to the White House. The National Medal of Science ceremony honors individuals in science and engineering who have made important contributions to the advancement of knowledge in the fields of behavioral and social sciences, biology, chemistry, engineering, mathematics and physics. The proposed contract action will be awarded using FAR Part 13 procedures. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. The notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition is 41 U.S.C. 253( c ) (1) – “Only One Responsible Source.” An ombudsman has been appointed to help resolve any offeror’s non-routine matters or concerns that may not have been sufficiently addressed by the Contracting Officer.
