- The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Carestream Health, Inc., 150 West Civic Center Dr., Suite 601, Sandy, Utah 84070, to purchase 1 Year of Maintenance Service, including Software Updates, for a Kodak Directview DR 7100 System X-Ray Machine and a Kodak Directview DR 9000 System X-Ray Machine, in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. It is essential to procure these services from Carestream Health, Inc., since the government requires a technician that has been trained and certified to work on these machines and since it is essential to have a local company and technician so that repairs are expedited in order to not jeopardize patient care, and since Carestream Health, Inc. is the only company that trains and certifies technicians to work on their equipment and are the only company that has an office in Pittsburgh that can provide a local technician. This Notice of Intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Parties may identify their interest; accompanied by supporting literature, to the Contracting Officer no later than August 18, 2008 C.O.B. Information received will be for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. The determination to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer.
