- The USDA Agriculture Research Service (ARS) requires that all labor, supervision, tools, and materials be provided to renovate Labs 31, 33 and north wall of Lab 34 (500 SF +/- total lab area) and a bid option to renovate Lab 29 (450 SF +/-) at the New England Plant, Soil and Water Laboratory (NEPSWL) in Orono, ME. Renovations to Labs 31, 33 and north wall of Lab 34 shall be complete before work on Lab 29 is permitted. Work includes but is not limited to asbestos abatement, new countertops and fixtures, VCT flooring, lighting replacement, casework, fume hoods, HVAC and space modifications (Lab 29 only). This work is identified as BID OPTION #6 on the drawings. Bid Option #1 is identified as the BASE BID on the drawings. The Contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, tools, and materials to renovate Lab 29. Work includes but is not limited to asbestos abatement, new countertops and fixtures, VCT flooring, lighting replacement, casework, fume hoods, HVAC and space modifications. All work shall be performed in accordance with the terms, conditions, drawings, and specifications contained in this document. The estimated cost of construction is between $100,000 and $150,000. This project must be completed within 120 days after receipt of notice to proceed. Solicitation No. AG-3615-S-08-0012 will be issued as an IFB and incorporates provision and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-26. This solicitation is Unrestricted with the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The applicable NAICS is 236220 with a size standard of $31 Million. The solicitation and other documents (except the drawings and specifications) related to this procurement will be available electronically at the Internet site: http://www.fbo.gov on or about August 29, 2008. Potential offerors will be responsible for downloading their copy of the documents and for monitoring the website for release of amendments (if any) and any other related documents. Only one site visit will be schedule as identified in the solicitation. Potential offeror’s are required to provide the following mandatory information: Company name, contact name, street mailing address, telephone and fax number, and identify if you are a small business, minority owned business, women-owned business, veteran owned business, disabled veteran owned business or large business to establish a bidder’s mailing list and to received one (free) copy of the drawings and specifications. Request for the above information or to receive a copy of the bidders’ mailing list may be faxed t the POC by referencing the solicitation number and the project title.
