- The USDA Agriculture Research Service (ARS) requires that all labor, supervision, tools, and materials be provided to renovate a 900 cu. ft. +/- walk-in cold room and a 700 cu. ft. +/- freezer at the Jean Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging located in Boston, MA. Work includes but is not limited to: demolition of existing water-cooled condensing units and associated refrigerant piping, removal and legal disposal of existing refrigerant, furnish/install new water-cooled condensing units and matching unit coolers including all new interconnecting refrigerant piping, furnish and install new electronic controls for room temperature and humidity controls and monitoring, replacement of existing doors, frames, heaters; start-up and commissioning of new replacement and control systems. All work shall be performed in accordance with the terms, conditions, and specifications contained in this document. The estimated cost of construction is between $50,000 and $250,000. The requirement will include a BASE Bid for 1 of each item, and Options 1-4 for 1 of each item, All Option periods are pending availability of funding. All periods of performance will include additional increase in quantity if funding is available. This project must be completed within 90 days after receipt of notice to proceed. Solicitation Number AG-3615-S-08-0010 will be issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ) and incorporates provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-26. This solicitation is unrestricted in accordance with the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The applicable NAICS is 238220, with a size standard of $13 million. The solicitation and other documents (except the drawings and specifications) related to this procurement will be available electronically at the Internet site: http://www.fbo.gov. Potential offerors will be responsible for downloading their copy of the documents and for monitoring the web site for release of amendments (if any) and any other related documents. Only one site visit will be scheduled as identified in the solicitation. Potential offeror's are required to provide the following mandatory information: Company name, contact name, street mailing address, telephone and fax numbers to establish a bidder's mailing list and to receive one (free) copy of the drawings and specifications.
