- Sole Source Synopsis for US Naval Academy: Modulated Differential Scanning Calorimeter plus Thermogravimetric Analyzer The Fleet Industrial Supply Center (FISC) Norfolk, Contracting Department, Philadelphia Office intends to acquire one Q2000 Modulated Differential Scanning Calorimeter and one Thermogravimetric Analyzer for the US Naval Academy. These commercial items will be solicited in accordance with the information in FAR Subpart 13.5 using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The proposed firm fixed price contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source. The proposed sole source sole source distributor is TA Instruments. These items must be obtained from a single source provider, in order to assure that the supplies meet the requirements for heat flow, temperature and atmosphere control, automated data collection, and robotic auto-sampler specifications. This supply must be compatible with existing units. The NAICS code is 334516 and the small business size standard is 500 employees. The anticipated delivery date is 30 days after the award of the purchase order. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However all information received within seven days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the government. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be normally considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The government will not pay for any information submitted in response to this notice.
