- Point of Contact: Sue Valenzuela, Purhcasing Agent Phone 206-764-6691, Fax 206-764-6817 or email susan.m.valenzuela@usace.army.mil Analyzer shall be a single-module, handheld field portable X-Ray Fluorescence detector system weighing less than 3.5 lbs. The analyzer shall utilize an x-ray tube with standard operating conditions ranging from 10-35 kV, and current from 10-50 uA for x-ray production. X-ray Tube parameters voltage, current and multiple filter locations shall operate under computer control. The analyzer shall not contain radioactive isotopes. Analyzer shall have at least 5 filter positions for modifying incident x-ray spectrum to optimize for certain elements or sample types. Three filter positions are essential for optimizing tube for best detection limits across the whole periodic table (Note: isotope systems use 3 isotopes for best performance, thus at least 3 filters are required). Filter positions, beam voltages and currents all under computer control and menu driven by touchscreen user interface.
