Description
65--CVX-300 Gen 4.0 Excimer Laser System. THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. The Department of Veterans Affairs NF/SG Veterans Healthcare System, located in Gainesville, Florida intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with the Spectranetics Corporation, 96 Talamine Court, Colorado Springs, CO 80907, to acquire the Spectranetics CVX-300 Generation 4.0 Excimer Laser System. North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 339112 (size standards: 500 employees) applies to this solicitation.The system is specifically designed for tissue ablation and use during precutaneous coronary or peripheral vascular procedures. The system will allow the VA to treat patients with peripheral arterial disease, specifically patients with critical limb ischemia (i.e. gangrene) who generally have the most complex arterial disease. The availability of this system will maximize VA's ability to prevent lower extremity amputation in patients with critical limb ischemia. It's compact size and mobility allow for ease of movement from a cardiovascular catheterization laboratory to an operating room. It's ease of application allows for preparation and readied within minutes. It produces a pulsed ultraviolet laser beam at a wavelength of 308 nanometers for the removal of unwanted intravascular tissue through photo-ablation.All proposals received within 10 days of this announcement will be considered by VA. A determination based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of VA. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Solicitation VA-248-RP-08-0462 has been assigned and should be referenced on all correspondence regarding this announcement. Interested firms are reminded that in accordance with FAR 4.12, prospective contractors shall complete electronic annual representations and certifications in conjunction with FAR 4.11 required registration in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database prior to award of a contract.
