- Description
- The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) Acquisition Contracts Office intends to issue a sole source modification to contract NMA301-02-D-0001 with MacDonald Dettwiler & Associates Ltd. (MDA) for continued access to RadarSAT-1 (RS-1) and RadarSAT-2 (RS-2) commercial Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data and direct downlink services. MDA is the developer and owner of the RS-1 and RS-2 satellites. MDA is the only available source of RS-1 and RS-2 data and direct downlink services for U.S Government purchases. Contract NMA301-02-D-0001 currently has a period of performance through 14 February 2009. The planned modification will extend the contract period of performance through 30 September 2009. NGA is currently conducting a study of commercial SAR satellite sources and anticipates competitively awarding a follow-on contract(s) for future requirements beyond FY09.
