Description
Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, the U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering (RDEC) Acquisition Center, Natick Contracting Division (NDC), Kansas Street, Natick, MA on behalf of the U. S. Army Natick Soldier Research, Development and Engineering Center,, Natick, MA intends to negotiate and award a contract on a sole source basis with SDS International, Advanced Technologies Division, 3403 Technological Avenue, Suite 7, Orlando, FL 32817 for the continued development of the Soldier Systems Integration Lab (SSIL) Solider as a System simulation facility. The US Army Natick Solider Research, Development and Engineering Center (NSRDEC) Future Warrior Technology Integration (FWTI) program has a requirement to provide software upgrades and systems engineering support and modifications to the Solider as a System simulation facility and existing high fidelity databases systems. New software upgrades and enhancements are needed to improve the Natick Solider Systems Integration Lab (SSIL) simulation facility. The SDS Commercial Off the Shelf (COT) software and hardware based system is compatible with the Future Warrior Technology Integration systems, messaging systems, databases, and components such as: tactical UAV controllers and multifunction laser. The estimated dollar value is $250,000.00. Any firm that believes it can meet this requirement may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within 7 days from the date of publication of this announcement. Supporting evidence must be in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirements, yet must be limited to 2 pages. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government to compete the proposed procurement based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, NCD will proceed with awarding a cost plus fixed fee contract to SDS International, Advanced Technologies Division. Nothing herein should be misconstrued as a request for proposal. No solicitation document is available.
