- BLACK KETTLE NG & WASHITA BATTLEFIELD VISITOR CENTER INTERPRETIVE TRAIL - Project consists of constructing 2242 lineal feet of a 4’ wide concrete pathway, 9 concrete plazas, and 2 puncheons. All work shall conform to given slope guidelines. From Albuquerque, NM or Amarillo, TX, take I-40 east to Oklahoma. Take the exit for Sayre and get onto US-283 North. Stay on US-283 for approximately 25 miles to the center of Cheyenne, Ok. There is a 4-way stop sign. Turn left onto Hwy 47, through town and over a small bridge. Approximately 1/2 mile beyond this bridge, take the first right onto Hwy 47a at the top of the hill. The district office is on the right after you turn. Black Kettle National Grasslands District Office, Cibola National Forest.
