- The Gifford Pinchot National Forest is soliciting prospective contractors to include repair of cracked sidewalks and rock walls along the 99 road interpretive sites. Additional work includes pressure washing and resealing rock walls, rock siding on several buildings and sidewalks. The 99 road is an important visitor area for Mt St Helens National Monument. The area is under snow five months of the year and is exposed to harsh conditions. The contract requires the contractor to repair existing damage to rock walls at each interpretive site. Some repairs are minor in nature, while others or more extensive requiring expertise with rock and mortar. Additional work would include repairing damage to minor cracks in existing sidewalk, pressure washing all rock walls and sidewalks and then sealing walls, and sidewalks with approved sealant at each site. This project is located within the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, in the State of Washington, Cowlitz County. The estimated start work date is September 22 with a project completion date of October 17, 2008. The NAICS Code for this project is 237140 with a size standard of $13.0 million. The Government Estimate for this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. The estimated date of issuance for the solicitation is August 22, 2008 with offers due on September 9, 2008. The solicitation will be issued as a 100% HUBZone set-aside. A single contract will be awarded to the offeror representing the best value to the Forest Service based upon price, experience, and past performance. Prospective contractors and subcontractors are requested to register as an interested vendor in order to receive notification of any postings concerning this project. The solicitation, and any amendments, will be made available at this internet site. All responsible sources may submit an offer, which will be considered by the Forest Service.
