- This is not a solicitation, but a Notice of Contract Action. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center, Boise Idaho, VISN20 Contracting Office, intends to award a sole source Firm-Fixed Price (FFP) purchase order to Buxco Inc. Buxco Inc, shall provide custom made software and engineered replacement components for a Pulsating Tissue Analyzer equipment previously purchased from Buxco as a sole source. This equipment is used by the Boise VA Medical Center Research Center. Under the authority of USC 2304 (c) (1) pursuant to FAR 6.302-1(a) (ii), the property or services needed by the agency are available from only one responsible source or only from a limited number of responsible sources and no other type of property or services will satisfy the needs of the agency. A determination not to compete this proposed contract is based on market research; the specific equipment involved and is solely within the discretion of the Government. This announcement is not a request for competitive quotations. Inquires should be directed no later than, 3:00 PM, 20 August, 2008 referencing VA-260-08-RI-0344 to John MacBride, Contract Specialist, VISN 20 Acquisitions, 208-422-1378, john.macbride@va.gov. The Government will review all responses, without prejudice and determine if another firm is fully qualified to fulfill the Boise VA Medical Center requirement. Note: If documents are sent via e-mail, the contractor will be responsible for validating Government receipt by calling Acquisitions at (208) 422-1378.
