- HSCG87-08-B-643405 – Replace Timer Room Air Conditioning Unit at the U.S. Coast Guard Loran Station, Port Clarence, Alaska. The work includes providing all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, transportation and incidentals required to replace the Loran Station Port Clarence timer room Air Conditioning (AC) system. The timer room AC system includes two 3-ton air conditioning units of which only one is to be replaced, a make-up air inlet arctic hood, a roof top exhaust fan for venting waste heat, motorized backdraft dampers for the make-up air inlet and the exhaust fan, and associated AC, exhaust fan and backdraft damper controls. Loran Station Port Clarence is a remote Coast Guard facility located along the Bering Sea approximately 75 miles North of Nome, Alaska. The facility is only accessible by commercial aircraft or charter boat from Nome. The facility maintains an airfield capable of supporting C-130 type transport flights. There are no port facilities but the shore is seasonally accessible by landing craft. The estimated start work date is early to mid-October 2008 for the required site visit to field verify dimensions and site conditions. It is anticipated that onsite work shall begin in May 2009 with completion required no later than 31 July 2009. The estimated cost range is between $100,000 and $250,000. See the solicitation for bonding requirements. Award of this project is contingent upon availability of funding. This project is being advertised as a 4th fiscal quarter FY2008 project with award anticipated prior to 9/30/08 if sufficient funding is available. However, award may be delayed until 1st fiscal quarter FY09 (period beginning 10/01/08) funding becomes available. This procurement is issued as a 100% small business set-aside. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code is 238220 and the applicable size standard is $13.0 million dollars in annual receipts for the past three years. All responsible small businesses may submit a bid. This solicitation will not be issued in paper form.
