Description

The purpose of this amendment is to provide information to all offerors. The government understands that sample matrix sensitivity is dependent on what sample is used. Offers to include stated sensitivities for the elements stated in the solicitation and what standard was used. Questions and answers. 1. What size pellet press do you need? Do you need manual or an automatic press? Do you need dies for use with it? If so, for the maximum size pellet our system can analyze? What other details can you supply regarding your press needs? Response-The government wants to see what the vendors are willing to include. Probably manual with multiple size dies appropriate for your equipment. 2. You would like us to show results from some NIST standard to show detection limits for various elements with our system. I spoke with one of our application specialists and they are not aware of any standard that would cover the full range of elements from C-U. Would submitting a few results from different standards covering a percentage of the elemental range be sufficient to demonstrate our analytical capabilities? Response-Yes to the latter since there are not NIST standards for all elements. The government wants to know performance (sensitivity) and wants to leave it up to the offerors to provide the government with that information. We did list several elements that the government specifically requires information on.
