- Agency / Office: CH2M HILL Hanford Group, Inc. (DOE Contractor) Location: Office of River Protection Title: Expression of Interest - Direct-Push Drilling Equipment Description(s): Searching for a firm or agency to provide us with a Hydraulic Hammer that is capable of performing to a certain set of specifications. Drilling Equipment Must: • Be mounted on high mobility vehicle. • Have total weight less than 20,000 lbs. • Have mast with at least 6 ft 9" travel to allow for use of 4 ft length casing joints • Be a hydraulic driven hammer with nominal 450 ft/lb striking force per blow, cycling between 500 and 2000 blows per minute • Have a rotating head with swivel ~10,000 ft/lbs of torque. • Have a pull back force of 12,000 lbs at 2000 psi & ~ 18,000 pull back at 3000 psi • Have a down force on the hammer of ~10,000 lbs at 2000 psi • Have a hydraulic assisted pipe wrench for use during make-up/break-out of casing • Have a hydraulic foot clamp for securing casing for make-up/break-out. • Capable of advancing casing at angles ranging from vertical to 30 degrees from the horizontal. o Drive casing from 0 to 100 feet below the ground surface in the gravelly sands of the Hanford formation (200 West) and up to 200 feet in the predominately sandy facies of the Hanford formation (200 East). o Drive casing from vertical to 30 degrees from the horizontal; drive ~110 feet of casing at 30 degrees from the horizontal. o These specifications are based on driving either 2.5-inch outside diameter/1.75-in inside diameter and 2.625-inch outside diameter/1.875-inch inside diameter. Interested Firms are invited to submit an expression of interest letter to include a response to the following: 1.) A description of their system/technical approach 2.) A preliminary drawing/sketch or picture of their equipment 3.) A rough order of magnitude (ROM) cost estimate for all components 4.)
