- The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS), intends to award a sole source contract to Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA). WMATA is the only source of mass transit in the metropolitan Washington, DC, area. This contract will provide Economic Research Service (ERS) employees with Metro checks and SmartBenefits necessary to utilize the WMATA system services. The period of performance is August 1, 2008 through July 31, 2009. Anticipated award date will be: August 1, 2008.
