- Description
- The Bureau of the Public Debt on behalf of the Armed Forces Retirement Home (AFRH) intends to issue a solicitation for mobile dentistry services. This acquisition is a 100% small business set-aside procurement, the NAICS code is 621210 and the size standard is $6.5 million. This solicitation will result in a contract with a base period of performance from date of award through September 30, 2009, with the possibility of four one-year option periods. The purpose of this solicitation is to provide mobile dentistry services, in a self-contained unit. The Contractor shall provide a mobile unit, to include a dentist, dental hygienist, dental assistant, and receptionist. The Contractor shall also provide all dental equipment and supplies as necessary to serve a geriatric population and provide dental care to approximately 300 residents of the Armed Forces Retirement Home in Washington, DC. A complete listing of personnel qualifications will be included in the solicitation’s performance work statement. The Contractor shall provide the following services: Annual and admission examinations that include documented pain assessment, oral cancer screening, periodontal status, caries and number of remaining teeth, Dental cleanings or prophylaxis, Fillings or restorations, Extractions, Root canal treatment, Urgent Treatment as needed. It has been estimated that each resident (approximately 300) will require, at a minimum, the following services: One Exam, One Cleaning, and Two Fillings per person, per year. The Contractor shall provide services approximately two days per week, during the following hours: Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Additional hours may be added, as necessary. A site visit will be held on the Armed Forces Retirement Home in Washington, DC on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Offerors are urged and expected to inspect the site where services are to be performed and to satisfy themselves regarding all general and local conditions that may affect the cost of contract performance, to the extent that the information is reasonably obtainable. In no event shall failure to inspect the site constitute grounds for a claim after contract award. Interested offerors are asked to contact Lisa Wells to confirm site visit attendance.
