Description
On 11 June 2008, the Communications Satellite Program Office (PMW-146), onbehalf of the Program Executive Office Space Systems (PEO-SS) and the Joint PEO Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) and its Network Enterprise Domain (NED) program office, hosted an industry day on the Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) waveform. PEO-SS/PMW-146 manages the acquisition of the MUOS under contract N00039-04-C-2009 with the prime contractor Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company (Sunnyvale, CA). The MUOS system is comprised of the UHF satellite constellation and its network integrated ground system, including the MUOS Common Air Interface (CAI) waveform. The MUOS capability will be delivered to the Warfighter via radio terminals that are to be enabled with the MUOS waveform. Terminal production efforts are not part of the MUOS contract N00039-04-C-2009 scope. JPEO JTRS manages the terminal development & production efforts, and the NED program office manages JTRS-related software efforts, which include upgrading the MUOS CAI waveform to be ported onto the JTRS terminals. The industry day agenda included: MUOS system overview; MUOS waveform description; terminal link budget overview; MUOS-capable terminal use overview; procedures for accessing the MUOS waveform; and restrictions pertaining to working with the MUOS waveform. Attendees were given a CD of the materials presented. Subsequently, answers to the questions submitted during the session were provided as well. The information is ITAR controlled and, therefore, it can only be released to U.S. citizens and private individuals or enterprises eligible to obtain export-controlled technical data in accordance with DoD Directive 5230.25, 16 March 1999. If you were not able to attend the briefing and are interested in obtaining a copy of the presentation material along with the Q&As, please follow the process below. To obtain this information, the requesting individuals must verify their company affiliation, identity, and U.S. citizenship. Further, the individuals companies must have a properly executed and current DD2345 (MILITARILY CRITICAL TECHNICAL DATA AGREEMENT) in place, which will be validated. A copy of this form is accessible at http://www.dtic.mil/dtic/pdf/registration/DD2345.pdf.
