Description
FISC Norfolk Contracting Department Philadelphia Office intends to procure automotive, truck, engine machinist, collision repair, school bus, parts, and alternate fuel examinations for certification or credit by examination on a sole source basis in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. This requirement is to provide services commencing in FY 09 with an estimated 4,500 examinations and extending for four (4) option years with estimated quantities of 4,500, 5,000, 5,500, and 6,000 examinations as required by the Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES), Pensacola, FL. The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) is the only national association offering automotive service certification or American Council on Education (ACE) recommended credit-by-examination. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement or to submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition based upon responses to this requirement is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of this notice will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct competitive procurements. The solicitation will be conducted under the provisions for Commercial Items in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12. The solicitation will require the submission of a firm fixed price proposal. SEE NOTE 22
