Description
BACKGROUND The Office of the Chief Information Officer, National Labor Relations Board is seeking qualified bidders to provide a Next Generation Firewall system/solution to replace the current firewall system. OMB has mandated that all government agencies reduce the number of Internet connections at each agency. The NLRB is reducing the number of Internet connection to the Internet from fifty-two to one connection located at the Data Center. The current firewall has reached the end of product life cycle and can not handle the amount of internet traffic that will be routed from the regional office through the one Internet connection. The agency is looking to purchase a Next Generation Firewall solution that will support the increase in Internet traffic through the one Internet connection. The Next Generation Firewall Solution will be used to monitor, manage, block, and throttle the Internet traffic passing through the one Internet connection. The objective is to improve the agency’s Information Security environment by making it easier to monitor data traffic on agencies Internet connection. SCOPE The scope of this project is to deploy a Next Generation Firewall Solution. The solution shall include the appliance and options for training, support and maintenance. A. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS : The Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), expects to award a firm fixed-price contract to provide a Next Generation Firewall Appliance, support services and training, based on the technical requirements presented below. These requirements are meant to focus on those requirements most significant to the project’s success. When responding to this PR08-42-0087, please reference only currently available products. a. Next Generation Firewall Functionality b. Form Factor c. Management d. Reporting e. End-user Controls f. Hardware Warranty g. Other Information B. TRAINING: Training of approximately Four (4) NLRB information technology professionals, in the operation, use and management of the Next Generation Firewall Appliance, is anticipated. Training shall be an optional service that, if required, may be exercised in either the base or first option year. C. SUPPORT AND MAINTENANCE Support and maintenance shall be an optional service that may be exercised in either the base or option years. Offerors shall describe the levels and types of support and maintenance offered. Offerors shall price the various types and or levels of support offered and proposed, for the base period and the option periods. The interested bidders will submit their names and point of contact information to the contracting officer listed in here by the closing date. For planning purposes, bidders need to provide a budgetary estimate for their solutions (products and services including training), and information on whether the products and services are available through GSA Schedule or other GWAC sources or open market. Based on the information, the Agency will determine the course of action and a solicitation will be forwarded to the interested vendors for response in near future.
