- The US FIsh and Wildlife Service, Region 8 Contracting Office in Portland, Oregon intends to award a contract to Pacific Open Space, Inc. DBA NOrth Coast Native Nursery in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1 to grow 8000 plants of Eriogonum nudum var. auriculatum (naked stem buckwheat) to the desired age class needed to provide food stock and reproductive requirements at San Francisco Bay National WIldlife Refuge for the larvae of the Lange's metalmark butterfly (Apodemia mormo langei) an endangered species. The refuge and several nurseries within a viable transportation area have attempted to grow this species to the appropriate age class without success.
