- SUBJECT: Bonnet Carre Spillway, Sandblast and Paint Metal Fixtures and Components of Spillway Bays, St. Charles Parish, LA NOTE: THIS ACQUISITION HAS BEEN SET-ASIDE FOR SERVICE-DISABLED VETERAN SMALL BUSINESSES ONLY. BIDS FROM ANY OTHER TYPES OF BUSINESSES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. The work to be performed under this project consists of providing the labor, supervision, overhead, tools, equipment, vehicles, transportation, per diem, and materials to remove existing paint (herein referred to as sandblasting but including water blasting, mechanical or chemical stripping, chipping, etc. as required) from all steel structural members of the Bonnet Carre Spillway structure, repainting all steel members, and all incidental work as described in these specifications. The work will be performed 20-30 feet above ground level, and fall protection in accordance with OSHA requirements (29 CFR 1926 Subpart M) will be required. Scaffolding, cherry-pickers, and/or scissors lifts may be required in order to accomplish the work. NOTE: The existing paint to be removed does NOT contain lead to the best of our knowledge. The total value of this contract is $600,000. In this reverse bidding procurement, contractors will bid on the total amount of structures they can complete per the specifications for a firm-fixed price of $600,000, not to exceed 152 bays. The solicitation will issue on or about 14 August 2008 and a bid opening date will be established in a future amendment. This is a procurement set-aside for service-disabled veteran small business. NAICS Code is: 237990. The solicitation documents for this procurement will be posted on Army Single Face to Industry (ASFI).
