Description
The purpose of this amendment is to provide answers to questions received in response to the original synopsis solicitation. There is no change to the original response due date. The following questions and answers are provided: Question 1: For both the SWIR camera and the MWIR camera there is a specification that states The FPA shall have a resolution of 640 by 512 pixels and the pixel pitch shall not exceed 22 um in either dimension (pixel width or height). And in a later specification for both cameras there is another request that The camera shall be capable of accepting the standard f/2.3, twist-lock bayonet mount lenses sold by companies such as Optimum Optical and Janos Technology. Our camera system does work with all Janoss and Optimum Optical Systems lenses but has a 25um pixel pitch. It is also our understanding that neither of the lens manufacturers have an airy disc that requires exactly a 22um pixel size nor a image plane field of view diagonal that wouldnt allow for a 25um pixel pitch detector with 640x512 pixel array. My question is can the detector pixel pitch be 25um square in size and still work for this requirement, assuming full compatibility with the Janos and Optimum Optical Lenses? Answer 1: Yes, the pixels can be 25 microns square and meet the requirement of compatibility with f/2.3 lenses. Question 2: Question concerns the specification for both cameras that The communication and data transfer links to the camera shall be implemented via the Camera Link interface. If our camera can provide full digital data through CameraLink Base but communication and control with the camera through USB, Gigabit Ethernet, or RS-232 Serial, would that be acceptable? Answer 2: No, both the communication link and the data link need to be implemented through the Camera Link interface. The data acquisition system (DAS) for use with these cameras was procured recently and the DAS will be setup for the communication link and the data link to be implemented via Camera Link. So the IR cameras need to have both links implemented through Camera Link to be compatible with the DAS. Point of contact is Martha Robles, 575-678-4963 or via email at martha.robles@arl.army.mil
