- Description
- The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to award a sole source contract modification under Contract N00024-06-C-6248 to Kollmorgen Corporation, 347 King Street, Northampton, MA 01060-2390. The requirement is for up to four Photonics Mast system Spares as well as shipping containers for the sensor units in support of the Photonics Mast Program (PMP). The PMP System is an electro-optical replacement for conventional periscopes to support the FY09 FY13 Virginia Class platforms. Only Kollmorgen Corporation, Electro-Optical Division, possesses the in-depth knowledge and experience of the system necessary to accomplish the work without substantial duplication of cost to the United States and unacceptable delays to the operational availability of the Submarine Fleet. The additional effort will be awarded pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1). Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. See numbered note 22. *****
