- Description
- VA Medical Center-Atlanta (VAMC) is seeking a qualified A/E firm with specialty and/or experiences in designing health care facilities to provide professional services to develop a feasibility study regarding the 3rd floor mechanical space of Tower C located at the VAMC, 1670 Clairmont Rd, Decatur, GA 30033-4004. The feasibility study shall include: (1) a structural analysis of the slab; (2) the amount of floor space that can be used for office space or storage; (3) HVAC requirements for ventilating the space for human occupancy; (4) power requirements; & (5) asbestos assessment and any other requirements deemed necessary to determine how the 3rd floor can be best utilized. A/E shall also be required to develop a conceptual design and provide a detailed construction estimate. A/E will be required to meet with the Engineering staff to discuss findings. Award of a contract is contingent upon the availability of funds. Interested firms shall submit two (2) copies of their SF 330 to "Contracting Officer, Attn: Ed Cohen, VAMC, 1670 Clairmont Rd, Room GC-125, Decatur, GA 30033-4004" NLT 3:00 PM (EST) 08/29/2008. NAICS codes: 541330. SF (Standard Form) 330 can be obtained at the following website: http://www.gsa.gov/Portal/gsa/ep/formslibrary.do?formType=SF. Selection criteria incl 1) professional qualifications 2) specialized experience & technical competence of A-E firm w/similar type projects; 3) past performance on contracts with VA, other Government agencies, & hospitals; 4) geographical location of A-E firm; 5) experience & roles of key design personnel, specifically on related projects; 6) cost control & estimating effectiveness; 7) CAD capability; & 8) professional capacity of the firm to accomplish proposed work within scheduled time frames. THIS PROPOSED CONTRACT IS SET-ASIDE FOR SERVICE-DISABLED VETERAN-OWNED SMALL BUSINESS CONCERNS. TH1S NOT A "REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL."
