- Pre Solicitation Notice Department of Clinical Investigations, Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC), Fort Sam Houston, TX has a Research and Development(R&D)requirement for a Research Nurse and Research Technician to conduct Clinical Investigation Protocols. The primary study objectives are to 1) Demonstrate that a portable ultrasound unit can reliably and rapidly estimate the CVP by measuring the diameter of the IVC, and using these results, demonstrate that a range of clinicians can perform the ultrasound exam. 2) Demonstrate the application of a new Electrochemical Detection (ECD) microarray point-of-care (POC) laboratory testing platform to rapidly screen ambulatory patients presenting to the emergency department (ED) with symptoms of acute upper respiratory tract infections (URI). This mission is in support of the Department of Clinical Investigations at Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, TX. This acquisition will be processed under Commercial Item Procedures with a period of performance of 01 September 2008 through 31 August 2009. This procurement is solicited on an unrestricted basis. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 541690 for this procurement.
