- This procurement is being procured in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The office of NOAA, National Marine Fisheries Service located in Juneau, Ak requires a contractor to remove and dispose of existing chainlink sliding gate and existing gate operator. Install new Ornamental Picket sliding gate, new gate operator, new gate posts, new gate controller, new gate guide rails and related hardware to make a complete and functional automatic gate. Contractor to make all necessary adjustments to insure proper operation and function. Gate controllers will be converted from numeric key punch to swipe card. Sliding gate to be Ornamental Picket style, 6' in height, color Regal Blue, as manufactured by Merchant Metals - which includes a uniform zinc galvanizing, chemical phosphate coating, corrosion resistant epoxy powder primer, and polyester powder top coat - or approved equal. Work also includes providing temporary fencing during construction to maintain a secure site during construction and not allow pedestrians or vehicles to access the NOAA property. New gate to follow the existing gate alignment to the greatest extent possible. Underground utilities are known to exist in the area and the Contractor should arrange for underground utility locates prior to beginning work on the project. A request for quotation will be available August 12, 2008. Interested parties must respond to this announcement within fifteen (15) calendar days of its publication. All responses must be in writing and may be faxed to 206-526-6025 or email (melvin.n.fondue@noaa.gov). This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less than $100,000. **** The Westren Regional Acquisition Division, requires that all contractors doing business with this Acquisition Office be registered with the Central Contractor Registey (CCR) as of October 1, 2003. After this date, NO award can be made unless the vendor is registered in CCR. For additional information and to register in CCR please access the following web site: http//www.ccr.gov.
