- DESC: NSN 5360-01-128-5632, Part Number 9348452. The item to procure is the Spring, Helical, Compression for the M249 SAW Machine Gun. Item consists of: Material is Steel, Wire, Music Quality, ASTM A228. Wire Diameter is 1.000 MM; Coil Helix Direction is Right-Hand; Spring Free Length is 480.0 MM; Spring Free Outside Diameter is 11.25 MM; Spring Solid Length is 242.0 MM; Inside Diameter is 4.75 MM. Heat Treating required. First Article Test required. Proposed contract is 100% Small Business Set-Aside. Solicitation will result in an Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with five ordering periods. Guaranteed minimum requirements are 2,000 each, with a potential contract maximum quantity of 100,000 each. FOB is Destination. Estimated issue date is 14-Aug-2008. The response date listed is an ESTIMATE ONLY. All or a part of this action is an unfunded FY08 requirement. It is anticipated that award of this acquisition will not be based on price alone. The Government reserves the right to award to other than the offeror with the lowest price or the highest rated (lowest risk) offer. See Section L and Section M of the solicitation, once posted, for additional information. This solicitation will be issued electronically in accordance with FAR 4.502 and 5.102, therefore, hardcopies will not be provided. Vendors wishing an electronic copy may download it on or after the issue date by accessing the following address via the internet: https://aais.ria.army.mil/aais/SOLINFO/index.htm. CAUTION: This solicitation will be issued electronically as will any amendments thereto. Because of this, the Government is under no obligation and is in fact unable to maintain a bidders mailing list. It is therefore incumbent upon any interested parties to periodically access the above internet address in order to obtain any amendments which may be issued. Failure to obtain any said amendments and to respond to them prior to the date and time set for bid opening/receipt of proposals may render your bid or proposal non-responsive and result in the rejection of same.
