- Description
- The Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City (NSWC PCD) intends to issue a sole source award to PowerStar, Inc. for 5 ea PS6000-ISO-Grade A UPS with MS3102R16-10P input connector and MS3102R16-10S output connector, Piggyback cases and front mounted maintenance bypass (MB) switch. PowerStar Inc. is the only manufacturer of these power supplies. This specific power supply has gone thru the shock and vibration testing required for certification of its safety for shipboard installation. Purchase of any other manufacturers power supply would require duplication of the shock and vibration testing performed on the PowerStar power supply at a cost estimated to exceed the cost of the components being procured. Therefore, it is in the Governments best interest to purchase this material from PowerStar, Inc. SOLE SOURCE NOTICE (if RFQ is sole source, provide justification) This material will be used with existing hardware which has already been through operational and technical evaluation. Using alternate equipment would prove costly to the government and to the mission. Item is urgently needed.
