- **************SEND ALL INFORMATION INLCLUDING QUOTES AND TECHNICAL QUESTIONS INWRITING TO JUDITH DRABKIN AT Judith.R.Drabkin@nasa.gov; FAX: 256-544-4401****************NASA/MSFC has a requirement for Fabrication of Circular-Format Silicon-Drift X-RayDetector Arrays.NASA/MSFC intends to purchase this product from KETEK on a sole source basis. KETEK isthe only commercial company fabricating circular silicon drift detectors at the presenttime. Market research has shown that there are other commercial silicon processingfacilities that do exist, but are not geared towards x-ray detector development.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to Judith Drabkin at Judith.R.Drabkin@nasa.gov; FAX: 256-544-4401 nolater than 4:30 p.m. CST on Friday, August 01, 2008. Such capabilities/qualificationswill be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct thisprocurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to competethis proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to thisnotice, is solely within the discretion of the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.An Ombudsman has been appointed.
