- Notice to intent to Award Requisition No. W81PN281580002000 The U.S. Army Centre for Contracting Excellence (CCE) intents to award a contract on a sole source basis for 12 months of Suicide Prevention trainng with Living Works Education Inc., 208-1615 10th Avenue SW, Calgary, Alberta, Canada T3C0J7. This Suicide Prevention Training is in support of the mission of the US Army DCS G-1 (ODCSPER) located at Washington, DC. GENERAL INFORMATION: The working assumption of Suicide Prevention Program is that an undetermined number of Soldiers, Department of the Army (DA) civilians and their family members may be at risk of suicide. Congress and the senior leadership recognize the Suicide Prevention Program is vital to maintaining mission effectiveness through individual readiness. Sustainment of this program generates substantial, positive public reaction, generating increased political support for U.S. objectives Army-wide. Also anticipated is increased operational effectiveness as effects of prolonged stress and family separation are mitigated through this program. SCOPE OF WORK: The contractor shall furnish certified trainers to conduct suicide prevention and risk assessment training for the Army Suicide Prevention Program. The contractor shall support the Program Manager (PM)Army Suicide Prevention Program (ASPP) by providing certified trainers and training materials, briefings to Director of Human Resources, as required by the Program Manager-ASPP. The PMASPP acts as the Armys executive agent by providing direction and oversight in the execution of the Suicide Prevention Program. The primary objective of this requirement is to maintain a proactive and effective Suicide Prevention Program for Soliders, DA civilians and their family members. This action will result in a Firm-Fixed Price contract for four (4) each training classes of up to twenty-four (24) personnel each over a period of performance of one (1) year from date of award (approximately July 2008 thrugh June 2009) This announcement is in accordance with FAR 6.302. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within Ten (10) days after date of publication (NLT 28 July 2008, 3:00 pm EDT) of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purspose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
