- Description
- This is a pre-solicitation notice for a contractor to furnish all materials, supervision, labor, transportation and equipment necessary to perform rut filling, micro-surfacing and striping of 2 miles of Miners Castle Road within Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Minising, MI., a unit of the National Park Service. All work shall be in accordance with Standard Specifications for Construction, 2003, Michigan Department of Transportation, Microsurfacing Mix Design Criteria, Section 507 and as amended in the specifications that will accompany the bid package. Asphalt Emulsion for micro surfacing shall be CSS-1mM or CSS-1hM emulsion. Contractor has the option of using emulsion, aggregate and mix design that meets ISSA Specification A-143 in lieu of those specified in MDOT Specification Section 507. Interested parties are urged to make a site visit to ascertain existing work conditions. Performance period is 60 days following the notice to proceed. Magnitude of this project is $100,000 to $250,000. Procurement is being conducted under full and open competition procedures under the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. Accordingly, it is open to both small and large businesses. The applicable NAICS code for this project is 237310 with a size standard of $31.0 million. The solicitation package will be available on or about August 1, 2008, with original bids due on or about August 30, 2008 (see solicitation for exact date bids are due). The solicitation will be issued as an Invitation for Bids electronically on the Department of Interior's National Business Center (NBC) web site, at http://ideasec.nbc.gov. Paper copies of the solicitation will not be made available. The remainder of the solicitation (including all pertinent attachments) is available at the site by clicking on the link "clauses and attachments," which is located in the blue box near the middle of the screen. Bidders wishing to receive electronic notification of changes will need to register to receive notification of this specific solicitation at http://ideas.nbc.gov.
