- Description
- ERDC Contracting Office intends to solicit on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 to Bekaert Corporation, 3200 W Market St. Ste. 303, Akron, OH 44333-3326. This procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP)-only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Bekaert Corporation is the only known source capable of meeting the Governments requirements due to specific material formulation. The prescribed formulation is a family of ultra-high performance concretes called Cor-Tuf. These Cor-Tuf mixtures include the use of a particular high-tensile-strength steel reinforcing fiber having a particular deformed geometry. The fiber meeting the program objectives for these mixtures is the ZP 305 steel fiber product that is made by the Bekaert Corporation. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 12:00 CST on 22 July 2008. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. No RFP will be issued based upon this Notice of Intent.
