- The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Caribbean Healthcare System (VACHS) San Juan PR, has a requirement for a service contract for computer software to manage hazardous material and hazardous material waste. The contractor shall provide all hardware, software, installation, training and ongoing full maintenance support of the Automated Hazardous Material and Waste Management Program (AHMWMP). This AHMWMP will establish a computer-based software program to assist in managing the purchase of chemical products and the tracking/management of hazardous materials and wastes. In addition, contractor shall provide for necessary associated hardware, including but not limited to: servers, barcode readers and labelers maker integrated in the software. The service shall also provide an initial installation and one-time start-up formal training to personnel, user guide literature, software licenses, and maintenance and support services. The period of performance will be for a base year and four (4) option periods of twelve (12) months at the VA Caribbean Healthcare System, 10 Casia Street, San Juan, Puerto Rico, 00921-3201. This procurement is been set aside for certified Small Business. This procurement will be performed in accordance with FAR 15.101, Best value continuum source selection process. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 511210 and the business size standard is $23.0M is applicable to this acquisition. All responses to written questions, which may affect offers, will be incorporated into a written amendment to the solicitation. RFP solicitation packages shall not be faxed by the offerors. THE SOLICITATION WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE ON OR ABOUT July 25, 2008 with a due date of August 7, 2008 by 3:30pm PR Local time. Copies of the solicitation may be obtained at no charge at the Federal Business Opportunities System website https://www.fbo.gov. This solicitation will be available in electronic format ONLY. Dissemination is limited to electronic medium and the VA WILL NOT PROVIDE HARD COPIES. Any amendments issued to this solicitation will also be available at the URL address. Once the solicitation is posted Offerors are advise that they are responsible to review and for monitoring this solicitation in the website frequently to ensure that they have most up to date information about this acquisition. Offeror are responsible for downloading their own copy of the solicitation and amendments.
