- This announcement constitutes Solicitation number FA4801-08-R-0012, which will be issued as a Request for Proposal (RFP). The Government intends to award a Firm Fixed Price Contract. Per FAR 36.204 the magnitude of the project is estimated to be in the following range: Between $25,000 and $100,000. The solicitation shall incorporate provisions and clauses that are in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC 2005-26). This acquisition is to be 100% set-aside and awarded to a small business concern. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 238120. The size standard is $13.0 million. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The contractor shall install a pre-engineered metal canopy. The edge of the canopy roof shall extend 4' past the bin walls on the east, west, and south sides. The roof shall extend about 10' past the bin walls on the north side, which is the front. This will give the canopy roof an approximate dimension of 69' long x 45' wide. The edge of the canopy roof shall be located 12' above the ground. The canopy shall have metal siding on all the sides except the front. The siding shall extend from the roof to 12" below the top of the bin walls. The siding shall be attached to the outside of the columns. The canopy shall be supported by six columns. The columns shall be placed at the approximate locations indicated on the drawing. The columns shall be embedded in a concrete foundation. The concrete foundations shall be designed and built in accordance with the canopy manufacturer's recommendations. The siding, columns, and the top of the canopy roof shall be dark brown in color. The underside of the canopy roof shall have the manufacturer's standard finish. Work includes patching the asphalt pavement around the concrete foundations on the front side of the canopy. The contractor shall also be required to provide submittals on the canopy and concrete foundation design and have this approved by the Government prior to start of work if awarded the contract. The contractor shall mark the proposed locations for the column footings on the ground and have them approved by the Government prior to digging. The canopy roof shall have a ridge crest running along its length. More details are included in the Statement of Work and other attachments. PROJECT DETAILS: The solicitation, which will include the site visit date and time as well as other attachments, will be posted on or about 18 July 2008 and must be downloaded from FEDBIZOPPS. DO NOT REQUEST VIA E-MAIL OR FAX. IMPORTANT NOTICES: 1) RFP submission must be in accordance with the solicitation. 2) If contractor is not registered in the Central Contractor Registry, they are not eligible for award (Ref, DFARS 252.204-7004, and Required Central Contractor Registration). 3) All amendments, if applicable, must be acknowledged. 4) Offerors should follow instructions in L on submission of proposal.
