Description
THE ABOVE REFERENCED NOTICE IS HEREBY AMENDED AS FOLLOWS: ADD QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS: Solicitation 08T276065-2 "Journal Public Health Reports": 1. Are the approximately 100 articles to be edited during the contract period all research articles for the six bi-monthly issues, or do they include different kinds of articles (e.g., letters to the editor, book reviews, etc.) published in the six issues? Are any articles for the Supplements included as well? The estimate of 100 manuscripts is for full-length research, practice, and viewpoint articles. This figure does not include manuscripts published in PHR supplements. The latter manuscripts are edited through a different mechanism. 2. Can you provide an estimate of the number of double-spaced pages in Microsoft Word that a typical issue might contain? A typical manuscript varies in length from about 3,000 to 7,000 words. The average length is about 4,500 words. 3. Is the contractor responsible for changes that may need to be made to charts and tables (other than labels), or are suggested changes to be discussed with the authors, who would make needed alterations to the graphics? If the contractor is expected to make these changes, are graphics done in Excel or is other software sometimes used? Working with the lead author(s), the contractor is responsible for editing all aspects of the manuscript including text, graphs, and figures. 3. Can you suggest an estimated number of meetings that would be advisable with the Editor of the journal during the course of the year? The technical editor would need to meet face-to-face with the editor-in-chief on a monthly basis and by phone several times per week. 4. Are the completed manuscripts to be submitted to the design and layout contractor in Microsoft Word or is some other format used? Microsoft Word.
