- This is a COMBINED SYNOPSIS / SOLICITATION for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation issued as Request for Quotation (RFQ) Q1574083291. A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. FAR clauses and provisions enclosed within this RFQ are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-27 and are available in full text through Internet access at http://www.acqnet.gov/far. The National Park Service encourages the participation of small, disadvantaged and women owned business enterprises. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 332618 and the small business size standard is 500 employees. QUOTES ARE DUE for this combined synopsis/solicitation on August 6, 2008 at 4:30 PM Mountain Daylight time and shall be delivered by the specified time to the National Park Service, Mammoth Supply Center, Bldg 34, Yellowstone National Park WY 82190, ATTN Contracting Office. Faxed quotes are preferred with all required documentation, no oral quotations will be accepted. Quoters must furnish the company name, DUNS number, TIN Number, address, phone and fax number, email address if available, and official point of contact. All Quotes must be signed by authorized company official and faxed to 307-344-2079 or emailed to patty_oestreich@nps.gov.. All questions regarding this solicitation should be faxed or emailed to patty_oestreich@nps.gov. Yellowstone National Park needs two (2) sets of tire chains. Quote must include delivery to the Mammoth Hot Springs in Yellowstone National Park. Price must be firm- fixed. Delivery is required by Nov. 26, 2008. The following is a description of the requirements for this acquisition: General Description and Specifications:Steel alloy high strength, alloy steel square link cross chain. Steel must be nickel magnanese alloy or similar for equivalent strength and wear ability. Core hardness must fall in the range of 49 to 53 rc. Case hardening must fall in the range of 61 to 65 rc. Case hardening must be to a minimum depth of six percent from link surface. Chains must be reversible and repairable. Chain must have repair links available that are consistent in wire size, link size, shape, and quality with the links of the original chain +/-0.1%. Chain must be ISO 9001 certified and provide proof of certification. Erzberg Double Diamond Pattern Equipment Chains. Pattern chains are made with alloy square links and electro fused welded wear bars in three link diamond pattern. Tensioning is by tensioning chain and lever fastener. Chains are net style of European design and manufacture. Please send specs of chains being offered.
