Description
THIS IS A COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICIATION FOR COMMERCIAL ITEM FOR NOXIOUS WEEK SPRAYING ON THE SAWTOOTH NATIONAL FOREST. SOLICITATION PACKAGE WILL BE POSTED SIMULTANEOUSLY WITH THIS SNYOPSIS. This work consists of noxious weed management and treatment within the next 2 growing seasons (2008, 2009) through the use of chemical control on the Sawtooth National Recreation Area and Ketchum Ranger District specifically within known and discovered weed infestations (see maps for unit identification and site specific information). Any Idaho State listed noxious weed population found within the project area may be treated. However, in the event available funding will not allow for treatment of all known or discovered infestations, priority will be given to Idaho State listed species that are of particular local concern such as spotted knapweed, diffuse knapweed, yellow toadflax, dalmation toadflax, rush skeletonweed (potential), musk thistle, scotch thistle, and leafy spurge. Champion Creek drainage downstream of the area were straw mulch was applied (see map) shall be surveyed and treated for Idaho State listed noxious weeds and koshia. Additionally, a global positioning unit will be used (provided by USFS – see Section C, Government-furnished Property, if contractor does not have the ability to provide gps unit) to record areas of treatment by species. New infestations encountered will be GPS’d and then treated according to the below specifications. The contractor will provide transportation, supervision, labor, operating supplies, appropriate herbicide as specified below, dye (if desired for use), surfactant, and incidentals except those items listed in Section C, Government Furnished Property. NAICS Code: 115112. Size Standard: $6.5 million. Estimated start date: 7/30/08 with estimated completion date 9/30/08. This is 100% small business set aside.
