- The U. S. Department of Commerce, NOAA intends to solicit for purchase of 500 each, Motor/Bracket/Switch (MBS) Assembly, for the Fischer & Porter Gage, D111B (BCD Punched Tape Recording), Interchangeable, IAW National Weather Service (NWS) Drawing No. D111-7A160-DR001, NSN: NWS0-81-270-0002; ASN: D111-7A160. Requirements: The motor, when externally activated must turn a 50 oz. in. load clockwise at a rate between 2 and 4 rpm, for one revolution to cycle the punch tape recording mechanism through one cycle. The motor assembly interfaces with the tape mechanism through a nylon coupler sized to fit the motor end shaft with a cross shaft pin. The coupler is a loose fit to both the motor shaft and the tape mechanism shaft and maintains the cross shaft pins of both shafts at a 90 degree offset to each other. The coupler also contains a cam that provides a step to deactivate the SPDT microswitch of the motor assembly, signaling completion of one revolution. The bracket of the motor assembly holds the motor in correct alignment with the tape mechanism shaft, the microswitch in correct alignment with the coupler/cam, and mounts on two raised bosses on the back of the tape mechanism frame. This item is being purchased for the National Weather Service (NWS) to be delivered to the National Logistics Support Center, Kansas City, MO. The supplies are to be shipped on a FOB Destination basis. The intended procurement is for supplies for which the Government intends to acquire under the guidelines of FAR Part 12, Commercial Items. This is a 100% small business set-aside. The Government will require first article testing under this requirement. The NWS special packaging/marking requirement will be applicable. Any small business sources are encouraged to respond to this announcement within 10 days after its publication.
