- SPAWARSYSCEN Charleston intends to issue a commercial, sole source contract,in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, to Vaisala Incorporated, 194 South TaylorAvenue, Louisville, CO 80027-3024, for the AN/UMQ-12A systems, whichprovide the ability to measure atmospheric parameters such as pressure,temperature, humidity, wind speed and direction. In accordance with the Officeof the Assistance Secretary of Defense (OASD (NII)) and Joint Staff directives,GPS systems procured after 01 Oct 2006 must be Selective Availability / Anti-Spoofing Module (SAASM) compliant. This equipment is the only system thatmeets the directive. A Firm Fixed Price, Indefinite Delivery, IndefiniteQuantitytype contract is anticipated. The contract will be for a base year with fourone-year option periods. The applicable North American Industry ClassificationSystem (NAICS) Code is 334511 and the size standard is 750 employees. Thisnotice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Any questionsrelating to this announcement are due no later than ten (10) days from thedate this notice is published.
