- Description
- The USDA, ARS, LSO intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source Texture Technologies Corporation, 123 Stone Mill LN NW, Marietta, GA 30064 for a texture analyzer to evaluate the quality of shell eggs, egg products and poultry. This system must meet the following specifications: 1) Capable of force and distance measurements in compression or tension 2) 1 kg and 5 kb load cells available with 0.1 g sensitivity 3) Load cells must be interchangeable by the user, and their calibration information detected by the software upon installation 4) System must allow for programmable data collection with separate attachments for quality factors such as shell strength, vitelline membrane strength, cooked pasta stickiness, breaking and elasticity strength, and backward extrusion for mayonnaise consistency 5) System software must be supplied by the vendor and free updates available for download to the PC 6) Unit must be portable, weigh less than 50 lbs 7) Power requirements for 110v, 60Hz. This procurement will be made pursuant to FAR 6.302-1(2) (C)(ii). No telephone inquiries will be accepted. Interested parties should submit written responses including prices and technical data sufficient to determine capability to meet the entire requirement and must be received in this office within 10 calendar days after publication of this notice. The government anticipates award of a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsive/responsible offeror whose offer conforms to the solicitation and is most price advantageous to the government. This acquisition is being conducted under the Federal Acquisition Streamlining Act, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The anticipated award date is July 21, 2008. Payment: Any award made under this solicitation is subject to 31 CFR Part 208 that requires all payments made by the government to be made by electronic funds transfer. Vendors may meet this requirement by acceptance of government purchase card or providing a Vendor Express Number. If a company has not previously enrolled in the Vendor Express Program with USDA, they should call the National Finance Center at 1-800-421-0323 for an enrollment package. All offers must include with their quotation a completed copy of FAR 52.212-3 available at www.arnet.gov/far.
