- The VA Mid-Atlantic Healthcare Region (VISN 6) Centralized Acquisition Service is seeking sources to provide education services to Nursing Assistants on behalf of the VHA National Hospice and Palliative Care Program Office. Specifically, the contractor will be required to: 1) Submit a detailed Program Management Plan that includes their technical management approach, work breakdown structure, along with detailed schedule, cost and personnel required; 2) Develop and conduct a palliative care training program for VA and State Veteran Nursing Home nursing assistants; and 3) Collaborate with the VA palliative care staff and the educators and staff from the Education in Palliative and End of Life Care Project Office to create a veteran-specific curriculum. This is a national-level project that will include all VA Medical Centers and affiliated State Nursing Home across the United States. Interested parties are encouraged to submit their organization's capabilities and qualifications to Jeff Benton, Contracting Officer, VISN 6 Centralized Acquisition Service, Department of Veterans Affairs, 201 Hay Street, Suite 304, Fayetteville, NC 28301 not later than 4:00pm local on July 16, 2008. All responses will be evaluated, however a determination by the Government to compete the proposed procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
