- PRESOLICITATION NOTICE FOR COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL SERVICES FOR TYPE I SOLID WASTE for the Lake City VA Medical Center, Lake City, Florida. The VA Medical Center in Lake City, Florida, intends to negotiate a Sole Source procurement under the authority of 38 U.S.C. 8153 and the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, to Southland Waste Systems, 8619 Western Way, Jacksonville, Florida 32256. Southland Waste Systems is governed under an Exclusive Franchise Agreement with the City of Lake City, Florida until September 30, 2012, which necessitates the need for a Sole Source Procurement. This contract will be issued as a Fixed-Price, Requirements Contract for a 12 month Base Year and four (4) 12-month options for renewal, for a total of sixty (60) months for five (5) years. This Sole Source Requirement is being issued under NAICS code 562111 with a size standard of $11.5 million. Service will begin October 1, 2008 (or date of award) through September 30, 2009 (base year). This requirement will be subject to the availability of Fiscal Year 2009 funds. The Solicitation should be available on or before August 1, 2008 at www.fedbizopps.gov under the Department of Veterans Affairs.
