Description
The Social Security Administration, Boston, MA has a requirement for a contractor to provide medical consultant services for the following specialties of Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Primary Care, Osteopathics, or General Practice. These consultant services will include providing oral and/or written consultations resulting from reviews of SSA disability case files, consulting with SSA medical policy staff and/or training other medical consultant contractors. The services involve the review of medical evidence in disability claims filed under Titles II and XVI of the Social Security Act. No patient contact will be involved. Basic computer proficiency is necessary to complete forms, read medical records, answer email messages and type narrative consultations. The services will be performed at the Social Security Administration Office located at 99 High Street, Boston, MA. Some travel may be involved. Offerors must have (1) a valid license to practice medicine; and (2) be available for onsite work a minimum of 15 hours per week between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Some travel may be involved. This acquisition will be for commercial services prepared in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Part 12 and will be conducted using simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR Part 13. All contractors will be required to pass a security background check which will include completion of fingerprint cards before beginning performance under the contract. To be eligible for award, offeror must be board certified and registered in the Central Contractor Registration database prior to award. To register, go to www.ccr.gov and you must have a DUN and Bradstreet number and Tax Identification Number (TIN) to begin registration. The period of performance will begin approximately September 1, 2008 or date of award, whichever is later, thru March 31, 2009 with provisions for a one year option period. The solicitation is scheduled for release on or about July 16, 2008 and can be downloaded at www.fbo.gov. No telephone requests for the RFQ will be honored and no hard copies of the RFQ will be mailed. This requirement is a 100% small business set aside. Proposals received from other than small business concerns will be deemed unacceptable and will be given no further consideration. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 621111 and the size standard is $9.0M.
