- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes a solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will be issued. Solicitation number is 8MS8F501, and the solicitation is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-26. Set-aside: 100% small business; associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 493110; small business size standard: $23.5 Million. Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program: not applicable. Allocations System (DPAS) rating is DO-S1. FAR 52.212-2, Evaluation - Commercial Items applies, with the following specific evaluation criteria to be included in paragraph (a) of that provision: lowest priced, technically acceptable quotation. Engineering Certification: Prior to installation the contractor shall provide the Defense Microelectronics Activity (DMEA) a load analysis of the shelf and rack system (including anchoring requirements) stamped by a State of California Licensed Professional Engineer certificating that the warehouse system design and installation will meet the storage and rack load plus Zone 3 seismic dynamic load requirements.The date and time offers are due: 07/31/08, 10:00 am Pacific time to DMEA, Contracting Office, 4234 54 th Street, McClellan, CA 95652-2100. STATEMENT OF WORK, DMEA 08-8F5, Warehouse Improvements, 9 June 2008. Objective: The objective of this project is to improve the efficiency, space utilization, safety, inventory control and organization of the DMEA warehouse, Room 157 and to provide improved warehousing equipment for the DMEA warehouse staff. General Requirements: The contactor shall use the conceptual sketch attached to the RFQ to develop a design for the warehouse improvements consisting of racks, shelves, security gates, security shelf sides and backs, rolling ladders and optional pallet banding and shrink-wrapping equipment. All installed racks and shelves, gates and security barriers shall be non-combustible (i.e. no wood or plastic). The contractor shall provide, deliver and install the equipment as well as disassemble the existing racks and Stanley Stacker System.
