Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD) China Lake, CA intends to enter into negotiations for a firm fixed price contract on a full and open competition basis for a Injection Molding Machine. The new system will be a 99-ton turnkey injection molding machine with tooling. The machine will be hydraulic and will have a four-tie, cantilevered two-platen clamping system. The following are a random sampling of the specifications: Footprint (inch) 175 X7 5 X 90 (maximum), Platen distance (inch) 28.55, Clamping force (US tons) 99, Mold opening stroke (inch) 19 maximum, Max shot weight (oz.) 6.8*, screw diameter (mm.) 42 mm, Injection flow (oz. /sec) 6 oz 6 OZ. (minimum)*, Hopper capacity (US gallons) 15 (minimum) Power requirements 480 volt. Controller - Control will feature a full touch screen that is freely configurable. Instruction and trouble shooting manuals will be accessible in the control. The machine will have RS-232 and USB interface connections. Other control functions include: nozzle and nozzle mount heater bands with separate control, optimized measuring and checking methods. The solicitation with a detailed list of specifications will be posted on the Navy Electronic Commerce Online Website at http://www.neco.navy.mil and the FEBBIZOPPS website at http://vsearch2.eps.gov/servlet/searchservlet on or about 7/24/08. The solicitation will close on or about 8/24/08. All responsible sources must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database at the following website: https://www.ccr.dlis.mil/ccr/scripts/index.html. Award will be issued under the authority of the test program for commercial items (FAR 13.5). All responsible sources may submit a quotation that will be considered by the agency. Responses must include all information requested in the written Request for Quotation (RFQ). Evaluation for the award will consider price and other factors including technical capability.
