- Description
- This project is to mechanically thin overstocked conifers plantations, and reduce fuels in natural stands by mechanically shredding/cutting/chipping live and dead brush, new and old slash, small dead conifers, knob-cone pines, live conifers and treat fuels along roadsides for fire protection. Where possible oaks are to be retained. Work shall be done in a manner that does not damage residual trees or specified non-treated vegetation. Work shall be performed on the Groveland Ranger District, Stanislaus National Forest. Work consists of approximately 327 acres with options for up to an additional 700 acres. Specifications, maps, and other solicitation documents will be posted on the federal business opportunities website (www.fbo.gov) during the week of July 21, 2008.
