Description
The United States Coast Guard Maintenance & Logistics Command, Atlantic intends to issue a Commercial Request for Quote (RFQ) for EMERGENCY DRY-DOCK and repair to the USCGC SHACKLE (WYTL-65609). The simplified acquisition will be issued as a Best Value, Request for Quote (RFQ), on or about 30 JUNE 2008. The RFQ will be issued via the Federal Business Opportunity (FEDBIZOPS) web page at www.eps.gov. Hard copies of the specification and solicitation will not be issued. A CD-ROM containing all applicable drawings will be sent via U.S. mail, if requested. Send all requests via e-mail to Viki.J.Frey@uscg.mil. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor the FEDBIZOPS web page for RFQ release and all subsequent amendments. FEDBIZOPS also contains an option for automatic notification service. The standard industrial classification code is 3732 and the NAICS is 336611. The acquisition will be solicited as a Total Small Business Set-Aside. The homeport of the vessel is SOUTH PORTLAND, MAINE. All work will be performed at the cutter’s homeport. This cutter is geographically restricted to an area no greater than one hundred ninety-five (195) nautical miles from their homeport and no further than ten (10) nautical miles off shore. The performance period will be FIVETEEN (15) days with a start date on or about 10 JULY 2008. The scope of the acquisition is for: (1) REMOVE, INSPECT, AND REINSTALL RUDDER ASSEMBLY, (2) ROUTINE DRYDOCKING, (3) PROVIDE TEMPORARY LOGISTICS. Trained welders who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures shall accomplish all welding and brazing.
