Description
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) contemplates making a firm fixed price award to provide genotyping (also referred to as DNA fingerprinting) of M. tuberculosis isolates using restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) analysis in support of state and local tuberculosis (TB) control programs in the United States. The goal will be to provide genotyping for one isolate from each newly diagnosed, culture-positive case of TB in the US. The period of performance is planned to be from September 30, 2008 through September 29, 2013. NOTE: The government reserves the right to make multiple awards to ensure geographic and demographic representation. Absolute criteria: Some genotyping activities may fall under CLIA regulations ( www.cms.hhs.gov/clia/ ). Contractor must have use of a BSL3 facility for handling M. tuberculosis, either onsite or in the immediate vicinity of contractor's facility. Contractor must provide training and medical surveillance for employees handling viable m. tuberculosis. All responsible sources that meet the above requirements may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. The solicitation will be available on or about July 15, 2008 via the Government Electronic Posting System at https://www.fbo.gov/ The date specified for receipt of offers will be approximately forty five (45) days after the solicitation issue date. Correspondence addressing the RFP must cite, RFP 2008-N-10471. Potential offerors will be responsible for downloading their copy of the RFP and all correspondence associated with this solicitation. The North American Classification Code (NAICS) is 621511.
